These Bay Area High Schoolers Just Raised over $1,000 for Yeah, Art!
Meet Katie, Sophie and Zoe, the students behind Beyond the Frame. In partnership with The Genius Academy, they built an entire art exhibition and auction from the ground up… and chose Yeah, Art! as the benefiting organization!
Even better? They were able to raise $1,105 for Yeah, Art!
An Event Built by Young Artists
Beyond the Frame featured artwork donated by local artists from TK through 12th grade, all created around the theme “The Message We Leave.”
The idea: make art about something you have to say. Students tackled the environment, culture, politics and issues personal to them. Young people making art about what matters to them? Yep. We’re into it.

Katie, Sophie and Zoe dreamed up the event, organized the exhibition and auction and made the whole thing happen themselves.
This is exactly the kind of thing we love to see at Yeah, Art!: young people taking their ideas seriously, making something from scratch and putting it out into the world. And then they took it one step further by using what they created to help other young people make art, too.
Beyond the Frame raised $1,105 for Yeah, Art!, supporting our work to bring arts education and creative technology to students in under-resourced schools.
