At Yeah, Art!, we believe the arts are for everyone — no exceptions. We are committed to making our programs, events, and communications accessible to people of all abilities, backgrounds, and circumstances.
Our Approach to Accessibility
Accessibility is part of our design process. Whether we’re in a classroom, at a community event, or online, we work to remove barriers so everyone can participate fully — physically, creatively, and culturally.
Program & Event Access
Two-Teacher Model — Every Yeah, Art! class is staffed with two professional Teaching Artists, allowing for smaller student-to-teacher ratios and more individualized attention.
Local Representation — Our Teaching Artists are primarily working artists of color from the Bay Area, reflecting the communities we serve and bringing lived experience into the classroom.
Adaptive Curriculum — Lesson plans are flexible to accommodate different skill levels, learning styles, and student needs. We follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs) provided by schools and create modifications as needed.
Accessible Spaces — We choose school sites and community venues with ADA-compliant entrances, restrooms, and seating whenever possible, and collaborate with partners to address accessibility concerns in advance.
Tuition-Free Access — All in-school programs are free to students, removing cost as a barrier to participation.
Inclusive Materials — Instructional materials can be provided in alternative formats upon request, and our technology-forward workshops offer multiple modes of engagement — visual, auditory, and hands-on.
Communication Access
We aim to make our print, digital, and video content clear and accessible, including providing captions, transcripts, or alternative formats upon request. We are committed to meeting WCAG 2.1 Level AA web accessibility standards on yeahart.org and welcome feedback for improvements.
Employment & Volunteer Opportunities
Yeah, Art! provides equal opportunities to all qualified individuals and actively works to recruit and retain a diverse team, including people with disabilities. We make reasonable accommodations to enable individuals to perform essential job functions.
