Yeah, Art! Receives Massive Donation from Global Rockstars

Blessings! 🙌 Oakland kids are now jamming out on Michael Franti & Spearheads’s music instruments and gear. A huge thank you to Michael Franti, Sara Agah Franti and Do It For The Love Foundation for this epic donation.

Michael Franti & Spearhead make massive donation of music equipment to Yeah, Art! nonprofit.

Check out this gear!

This donation of industry-grade music equipment includes a Yamaha Motif ES8 keyboard formerly used by Yeah, Art! co-founder Mike Blankenship, two Fender Twin guitar amps, an acoustic drum kit, a set of percussion instruments, four powered speakers and more — perfect for turning up the volume at school assemblies.

"This donation means the world to me — not just as a musician, but as a mentor. Some of this gear has been on tour with me around the globe, and now it’s in the hands of young artists in my own community. That full-circle moment is powerful. I can’t wait to hear what these students create.”

Community Spotlight:
Do It For The Love Foundation

Do It For The Love is a nonprofit founded in 2013 by musician Michael Franti and Sara Agah Franti. The foundation grants live concert music wishes to individuals living with life-threatening illnesses, children with severe challenges, and wounded veterans (including those diagnosed with PTSD). Since its inception, Do It For The Love has fulfilled over 3,000 live music wishes.

After a 2017 leukemia diagnosis, Kabir Taunk's cancer journey has been one of strength and hope. Thanks to a Do It For The Love Wish Grant, he got to see his dream concert — Imagine Dragons. Watch his wish come true.

Yeah, Art! is proudly supported by Expanded Learning Programs, an initiative bringing after-school and summer programs to students in Oakland Unified School District.
